Our school is actively engaged in regional collaboration through the SHOKO Consortium, which brings together industry, academia, and government. These activities are carried out with consideration for their connection to the SDGs.
Initiative of SDGs
【Mechanical Department】
We receive unused parts from local automotive repair shops and the Sendai Clean Center. Working in collaboration with other departments (Electrical and Interior Design), we use these parts to create beer bikes.
【Electrical Department】
In partnership with local electrical contractors from the Sendai Station Illumination Project Committee, we installed decorative illuminations.
【Interior Design Department】
We independently explored local issues and created items necessary for their resolution. Activities included designing and producing panels introducing flora and fauna for Ohara-no Pond Park, as well as creating store flyers, menus, and brochures.
【Commerce Department】
In collaboration with the Satsumasendai City Corporate Collaboration Council’s Bamboo Biomass committee, we used neglected bamboo to create bamboo sculptures for events such as the National Cultural Festival and Kagoshima National Sports Festival. Afterward, we participated in hospitality activities.
