Initiative of SDGs

The state of Initiatives

【Developing Problem-Solving Skills for Everyday Issues】
We have implemented a “Circle Time” at the end of each day, where children sit in a circle to discuss various topics. Even when conflicts or challenges arise, we encourage the children to engage in discussions and share their opinions with each other. Through this, we aim to nurture their ability to view problems as their own and develop their independence and problem-solving skills.

The state of Initiatives

【Reducing Waste Output】
Food waste, such as vegetable peels from school lunches, is processed using a bio-based waste disposal system to reduce the amount of waste generated. The organic matter produced by the processing machine is also utilized as liquid fertilizer.

The state of Initiatives

【A Zero-Waste Lifestyle】
To ensure that children can regularly connect with nature, we have planted many trees both inside and outside the kindergarten. Fallen leaves are composted instead of being disposed of as garbage, and the resulting compost is used in our garden. By involving children in this process, we provide them with opportunities to learn about the natural cycle of resources.

The state of Initiatives

【Local Production for Local Consumption】
We make efforts to reduce environmental impact and transportation costs while contributing to the local economy by using locally produced ingredients, such as rice grown in our city, in our daily school lunches.

The state of Initiatives

【Reducing Food Waste】
As part of our food education activities, we engage children in experiences such as making miso, growing vegetables, and harvesting fruits and vegetables. These experiences allow children to prepare and taste the food they have grown themselves. By increasing their awareness and interest in food, we work toward reducing food waste.
